Hee hee.

My aunt gave [livejournal.com profile] teinedreugan and me a choice of her paintings as a wedding present. At the time she didn't have any of her Christ paintings around that weren't, erm, a touch on the bloody side, so we looked through her other work. (While she does do other things, she also does a lot of icons.) We wound up picking out a floor-standing painting of St. Mary of Egypt.

[livejournal.com profile] whispercricket finds her slightly alarming, I believe because she's not wearing anything, and asked me to move her out of the public regions of the house. So she's now up in my bedroom.

oh right-- yes, St Mary of Egypt doesn't wear anything, that's sort of the point. Well, part of the point anyway. She was in the desert for I think 40 years without internet access.
